Royal Fremantle Golf Club monthly shield competition

The monthly shield is mostly played on the first Saturday of the month commencing in March and going through to October, eight rounds in all. The event is usually a stroke round although in winter it is sometimes a stableford round due to the shorter days, and the winner of each month’s round is given a badge.

The eight winners then play a stroke event on a Saturday in November with the best net score being the winner of the Jamieson Shield. This trophy has been going since 1908 making it the longest running trophy at Royal Fremantle Golf Club except for the Club Championship.
