Queen Victoria Golden Jubilee – Albany

[item_table]
Gilt bronze Queen Victoria Jubilee medals were given to each school child, and the silver ones were presented to dignitaries, some of whom had their initials engraved on them. The illustrated piece in the Carlisle reference has the initials E.G.S.H., namely Edward George Sydney Hare, who was a solicitor in Albany and a member of the Albany Municipal Council in 1887. At the moment J.H. has not been identified.
