Sheridan’s offered these medals to both Municipal Councils and Roads Boards with mixed responses, as can be seen from the excerpts from TROVE in the second half of 1945. There was competition from the Commonwealth Government, which was having victory medals struck for giving away to every school child in Australia.

Albany Municipal Council: Sheridan’s Engraving Works, Perth, offering victory medals for children at 6/- per dozen.—On motion Crs Howells, decided that no action be taken.

Wiluna Road Board: Sheridan’s Engraving Co. quoted a price for a Victory medal. The chairman stated that a suggestion had been made at the time of victory about striking a medal for the school children, but seeing the Commonwealth Government had taken up the idea the final decision would be in the hands of the local committee.

Goomalling Road Board: Victory Medals.—Sheridan’s Engraving Co. wrote quoting for victory medals. Moved Mr. Tyndall, seconded Mr. Bowen: That the Board purchase a number of these medals and that the secretary find out the number required and order same. Carried.
