The RAIA(WA) has a close association with the Architects Board, and indeed they share the same building at 33 Broadway in Nedlands. This medal was given to inaugural Board members and a few senior officers in RAIA(WA). The architect Brian Wright held the position of Chairman of the Architects Board from 1999 to 2006.
