DANCE-HALL FIGURE DIES
A prominent figure in Perth’s pre-war entertainment world died at his daughter’s Darlington home on Saturday 17 March 1979. He was Edson (Ted) Richard Banks (88), who was associated with river dances on the SS Emerald, which with the Zephyr was one of Perth’s two major pleasure cruisers operating to Garden Island and Rottnest island before WWII.
