The following item appeared in the West Australian 4 April 1919, p. 7 – R.S.A. APPEAL:

The medals to be sold in connection with this appeal have been made in Western Australia, and are very well designed and executed in bronze, having an outline map of Australia and a swan in the centre with “R.S.A. Appeal, 1919,” in raised lettering. A neat little fastening pin completes each medal. All collectors will wear the S.W.C. or R.S.A. badges, and use the official collection boxes. It is hoped that the public will make a great response to this appeal on behalf of Western Australia’s gallant soldiers and their dependants.
